PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WMBB) – Grab your leashes and roll down that car window, ‘Bark in the Park’, a dog-themed festival is coming to Academy Park in Panama City on Saturday, May 18th.

Admission to this event is free and all the fun will run from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

There will be live music, plenty of food, a dog market with 20 vendors, and even a Hawaiian-themed costume contest for both you and your four-legged friend to partake in.

Dog Training Elite, which is based out of Panama City hosts this event, and back in October they put on a similar event called ‘Barktoberfest’.

Summer camp registration back open for Bay County museum

They host this festival bi-annually because it provides local adoption agencies the opportunity to attend and to try and find their dogs forever homes.

“We wanted to provide an opportunity mainly for the rescues to have an adoption event,” Dog Training Elite Owner Tina Ruffin said. “They are always looking for those opportunities and places to have an adoption event.”

This time around Heartland Rescue Ranch will be the adoption agency attending ‘Bark in the Park.’
