OKALOOSA COUNTY, Fla. (WMBB) – The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office has arrested the suspect accused of using a note to demand money from a bank clerk in Destin.

The incident happened on July 3 when a man wearing a baseball cap, and a surgical mask got away with a small amount of cash at Truist Bank on Emerald Coast Parkway.


Authorities investigating a bank robbery in Destin

Deputies arrested 66-year-old Charles Gallagher of Maritime Court in Destin on July 5.

During the investigation, Gallagher’s 2017 black Maserati was spotted at a nearby business without a license plate and with a covered insignia in an apparent attempt to conceal its identity.

Investigators said a search warrant on his car revealed a bag with cash, a light blue surgical mask, a pair of glasses, and more.

Deputies said Gallagher denies any involvement in the robbery.
