5 p.m. update PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WMBB) — The Florida Highway Patrol said Friday that investigators have recovered a vehicle that they believe was involved in a fatal hit-and-run.
The incident began Friday morning when the body of a 27-year-old man from Dothan was found at Ormond Avenue and Highway 231.
Video of “a Ford F-250 pulling a camper, was captured traveling south shortly after (the victim) walked past the intersection,” Troopers wrote in a news release. “The Ford F-250 is captured north of Transmitter Road with two operational headlights. The Ford F-250 is then seen coming through the intersection of Transmitter Road and US-231 with two headlights. The same Ford F-250 is observed, on store surveillance, minutes later, traveling south, with the passenger headlight not operating.”
Troopers added that the vehicle was found at Saint Andrew State Park. The investigation continues.

PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WMBB) — The Florida Highway Patrol and other law enforcement agencies were on scene Friday morning after a body was discovered in a ditch.
The body was found at Ormond Avenue and Highway 231. Troopers said a 27-year-old Dothan man was walking south on Highway 231 when he was struck by an unknown vehicle. The vehicle then left the scene without notifying law enforcement, troopers said.
