BAY COUNTY, Fla. (WMBB) – Visit Panama City Beach will be updating both of the signs at all 100 of the public beach access points.

The larger sign above informs visitors of the access number. The smaller sign to the side of the access has beach warning flag system information. TDC officials said the signs are old and need to be freshened.

Panama City commissioners approved downtown social district expansion

“It would be a project that would be funded, you know, by the TDC in cooperation with the city and with the county and we think it really will help upgrade and freshen the visual esthetic along the beach because the signs will be new and fresh and fun,” Visit Panama City Beach President Dan Rowe said.

They also want to add more information, such as a QR code, lifeguard locations, and more. Rowe estimates that the cost per sign will come between $10,000 and $15,000.

Replacing all the signs will take several years. Visit Panama City Beach would maintain them. Panama City Beach Commissioners and Bay County Commissioners will have to approve the changes.
